Can you view death certificates online?
Whilst it is not possible to view a death certificate online, it is possible to order a certified copy of death certificate online. UK Document Services can provide a scan of the death certificate which will be emailed to you prior to posting.

The register offices hold Birth, Marriage and Death (BMD) indexes. At the registration of a death, important information or “entry” is added to the indexes. The entry or transcript of the death is then used to create the certified copy of the certificate. From these indexes’ death certificates are supplied.
If a death was registered within England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, a death certificate can be issued. It is also possible to obtain death certificates where the death was registered with the appropriate UK authority within the country where the death occurred. Deaths that were registered overseas may include those of the Armed Forces, Consular, High Commission or the Embassy.
