Are divorce records public?

Once a divorce is final and a Decree Absolute has been granted by the court, it becomes a public record. Becoming a public record must not be confused with the record being published and available to view online. The majority of divorce records can only be accessed via the court which issued the Decree Absolute.

As accurate information and reference numbers are required by the relevant court, it is not always a simple process to obtain a divorce certificate, however UK Document Services can help you.

You can order a copy of a divorce certificate online. Simply complete all the relevant fields on the order form and the order will be processed accordingly.
